For fifty-nine years we have been told the occupation is temporary, and for fifty-nine years it has grown. Every checkpoint, every settlement, every demolition order is justified by the same word: security. It is time to say plainly what that word now protects.

Gush Shalom — “The Peace Bloc” — was founded in 1993, when the established Israeli peace organizations would not oppose the occupation without conditions. We are extra-parliamentary, volunteer-run, and answer to no political party.
